1. My meditative practices occur first thing in
the morning as the voices wake me up out of sleep; it continues while showering
with visuals. Through understanding
meditation/mindfulness I am able to focus on one or two items for the day
versus combing through every thought that passes by. The voices cannot be ignored making it
challenging not to continue the need to meditate on a daily basis.
2. This particular phrase is stating before
passing judgment or grabbing the baton to lead, make sure you assess the
situation and understand the process beforehand. I learned this while taking a first aid/emergency
rescue course in college. Before pursuing
a career as a health and wellness professional, one must sense the desire to
help others. Next he/she needs to
understand the work entailed such as intense studies, etc… If this is not
there, this career path can make a person miserable. I have
an obligation for self which leads to an obligation for working with future
clients if necessary.
Mathew,
ReplyDeleteI too meditate in the morning when I take time to do so it helps slow me down for the day and focus on what is relevant. How did you do with wise mentor in the MP3 this week. Coming from Native American roots I truly enjoyed the music in the back and it made it pretty easy for me to focus, to coexist with the mentor my mind had created.
As far as the second part of our assignment it seems crazy to me to try to lead someone if you yourself are not the example setter. I am sure they are out there and we are all a work in progress however to me the idea seems fraudulent. Thank you for sharing.

Matthew,
ReplyDeleteNice post this week! I envy you for having the time in the morning for meditation, I usually am running around like a wild woman trying to get ready for work and have to save meditation for later on in the day. I really enjoyed how you described the phrase; I completely agree that if a person does not understand the effort needed for a particular career that it can make them unhappy. Also, realizing that a career path isn't right for you can make the education process painful and seem more difficult, I think that it is very important to choose a career path that is something that you are passionate about or at least that involves your interests.

Matthew first off I thought your BLOG was interesting reading and it made me think. The voices you are hearing is that a normal thing do I need to be concerned about you...Lol, glad to know you can decipher which ones you would act upon that day. And the fact that we both agree that experience in a subject area will always be beneficial to someone else when educating them from your own personal exposure.
