Describe the exercise and assessment process. What did you discover
about yourself? What area have you chosen to be a focus of growth and
development? Why? What are some specific exercises or activities that
you can implement to foster greater wellness in this area?
The Universal Loving-Kindess exercise is a good way to introduce the mindest of it is not about self. Living in a society which dictates all about self creates a falsse sense of security. This mantra opens the mind into realizing the photo is much larger than we think.
I use the integral assessment for the sport of bowling. This helps with focusing on certain weaknesses within the game which need the most attention. I am beginning to utilize this assessment in life as well. Self discovery is a life long process. The latest self discovery for me is becoming more honest and sharing the feeling with others without fear. I am going to focus on this more everyday. I find standing in truth allows the universe to assist with greater opportunities.

The Key Role of Thought in Wellness and Healing
I understand this concept already through martial arts training with a friend of mine back on the east coast. He taught me Ta-Chi movements which is the same as this particular exercise. Martial arts focuses on avoiding confrontation yet having the ability to defend oneself if necessary. I find that sitting in total silence inside my home while listening to the water flowing in the stream out in the back with headphones on allows me to hear the heart beat clearly.
The loving kindness and subtle mind exercise are the same. The only difference is the voice. The voice is very powerful and can create calm or chaos. Whoever this woman is for this particular exercise, I hear a more affirmative and forceful tone. She is not reading with feeling at all. She needed to be grounded herself before recording.
The spiritual, physical, and mental are all connected via the brain. The thought or presence of a spiritual presence will change the physical stature within the body resulting in a sense of calm and possibly an appreciation for life itself.
I have always incorporated these pieces throughout life. As I type this, I can state that losing my mother at an early age was a good thing because I learned to appreciate life in its entirety. I would not have been able to fully grasp and understand faith, perseverance, love, failure, success, ego, sex, envy, God/the universe, religion, the difference between an acquaintance and a friend, the true meaning of family, my purpose for being born, the reason why my parents behaved the way they did, understanding spirituality, and the list goes on and on.

The Mind-Body-Spirit Paradigm
Dacher's voice is good for introducing the exercise. The voice of the woman could have had better tonality and range. She was very monotone and flat. She tried to sound convincing but it did not help. Closing the eyes and focusing on the ocean waves and the voice was challenging. I was hearing both what was coming through the headphones and the television. I turned the television off which helped. The sound of the ocean waves and wind flute in the background is more soothing now. There is no need to hear the voice of the woman any longer. I would not recommend this particular exercise using the voice of the woman. The voice in my opinion ruins the experience.
The concept of "mental practice" is to understand it is more than just meditation. Mental practice focuses on every aspect of life's offering to humans. Proven benefits of a mental workout encourages going out in the real world and practicing kindness towards others and loving the person not the adjectives that describe them.

Unit 3
Physical well-being-8- At the moment the sinuses are acting up. I have also been experiencing naps that have extended past the 20 minute mark. I have also been concerned with the BP readings. A goal in this area is to pay the doctor a visit to check for any imbalances.
Spiritual well-being-7- I am facing "fears" that should not be. I am standing in my truth as Iyanla Vanzant would say. I am learning about other people dealing with cancer lately which I am using as a voice to teach self about living in the now. A goal in this area is not to stray away from the path I am walking on.
Psychological well-being-8- The mental state is good. The combination of the spiritual and physical will keep the mental aspect nice and sharp. A goal in this area would be to focus on breathing to help with relaxing. Another goal is to eliminate the responses to fight or flight triggers by stating I am whole and prosperous.
For the Crime of the Century exercise, I would have preferred to just have the music playing in the background versus someone trying to dictate how to feel.

Unit 2
Welcome to my blog!
Spirit Self Ego describes the spiritual path I have chosen to walk on. Having a positive spirit will assist with the learning of self and keep the ego in check.
The Journey On relaxation exercise reminds me of listening to an Enigma CD. I instantly felt relaxed. My shoulders began to droop, the muscles in the body started to give way, my breathing began to change into deep rhythmic breaths. The eyes became heavy and I began to smile.
